Pattern Story
Niina Aalto’s Sukukokous pattern presents a gathering of loveable panda figures. The bears’ distinctive black-and-white patterning and the small bamboo leaves use simple shapes to draw a heart-warming snapshot of a family reunion. The pattern may look cute, but it carries a dire message. Panda bears have long stood as a symbol of the loss of biodiversity – and for a good reason. The Sukukokous pattern is a reminder for us not to look away from the peril these unique animals are facing. Only by caring can we ensure that this will not be the last family reunion of the pandas.
Smart Quilts
Smart Quilts consist of one summer and one autumn quilt. One can decide which to put on depending on the weather. The two separate quilts can be combined to form one winter quilt with the snappers along the uses. No quilt cover is needed and no extra storage spaces required for winter quilts.
